Making the best use of your giving
Because we are a registered charity (reg no. 1052591) there is a very practical way in which the church can financially benefit from your personal giving of donations.
This programme (which is called the ‘Gift Aid Scheme’), currently enables the church to reclaim 28% of any gifts or donations made to it.
It costs absolutely nothing to the donor and is very straight forward to administer. The only proviso is that the donor must be a payer of UK income tax and that the amount of tax paid in the tax year is at least as much as the amount being claimed on their behalf.
There are two systems we operate to maintain an audit trail, as required by the Inland Revenue.
Either cash or cheque donations need to be made in separate marked envelopes, which are individually numbered to maintain confidentiality.
